Have you heard of Tobias Lear?  What an amazing history he had!  He was the Personal Secretary to President George Washington and was with him at his death.   Below we have shown his write-up in Wikipedia – read it!  It is fascinating!  Anyway, our cover is signed by him when he was Secretary of War during the War of 1812.  He was appointed by James Madison and was in D.C. when the British burned the city!  A fascinating cover for the history lover!
