Supplying the Vermont (Berdan) Sharp Shooters

For you Vermont or Berdan Sharp Shooter collectors, here is a great document suitable for framing measuring 4 ¾ by 7 ½ inches, the Captain of the 2nd U.S. Sharp Shooters, Homer R. Stoughton, states that he has received 100 wool blankets and 100 rubber blankets “for the use of a company of Sharp Shooters at West Randolph, Vermont” dated November 15, 1861 at Mount Pelier, Vermont.  Homer raised to the rank of Colonel of the Sharp Shooters, was wounded at Spottsylvania Court House and became a prisoner of war in June of 1864 in Petersburg, Virginia.  The document is in excellent condition written in nice dark ink with a beautiful autograph of Stoughton!
