U.S. Navy Engineer Haviland Barstow Writes Home after the Battle of Mobile Bay – “The Invincible Brooklyn” August 6th, 1864 – THE FINEST, MOST DISCRIPTIVE ACCOUNT WE HAVE SEEN OF THIS MOST FAMOUS NAVAL BATTLE – Includes a Piece of Flag from the CSS Tennessee!
This 8 page letter in ink is in fine condition with one small hole in the last page, not affecting the transcription. This is museum quality. Rather than do “highlights” you will just have to read it, because it is all too good. While the letter is not signed with his full name, it is signed “Hav” and there is only one Officer on the Brooklyn with that name, so no problem there. Enjoy!
