Museum Quality Americana
A “thin” sixth-plate tintype (2 x 3 ½ in.) in a very unusual sliding case. On the reverse, of the Cavalry tin is a CDV of the soldier’s wife. The tin type shows a Corporal with tinted blue pants, high boots and tinted Corporal Chevrons. The trooper has a revolver stuck in his belt and is holding a M1860 Cav. Saber and has a carbine attached to it’s over the shoulder strap. Look at the scans carefully, this image is very sharp and a real beauty (although, his wife is no beauty)!
