COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS
Anthony Stereoview of the "Ruins of Central Hall, Charleston, S.C., Effects of the Great Fire in 1862"

Here is a great view of the ruins of the Circular Church with Saint Michael’s Church in the background.  This is a yellow mount (earlier) stereoview in fine condition and “Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1865 by E. & H. T. Anthony & Co.” marking at the bottom.  The stereoview has good clarity and contrast and is in fine condition with the typical aging.  A wonderful view of historic Charleston devastated by fire and war!   Saint Michael’s Church served as an observation post lookout for the Confederacy to spot Union vessels coming into the harbor.
