Confederate Imprint: Miller’s Planters’ & Merchants’ STATE RIGHTS ALMANAC FOR 1863 – An Amazing Source Listing the Entire Government of the Confederate States, All the Officers of the Courts, Commissioners, Military Schools, Colleges… Even Every Member of the Police in the City of Charleston… All the Charleston Bank Officers, Rail Road Officers… 30 Pages of Reference Material + Listing of Battle Victories, etc. – A Wealth of Information!
We love the frontispiece of this almanac. With the South Carolina Palmetto tree emblem and “State Rights” motto. It is for the year 1863, “and 3rd of Southern independence”. Still present are the pale yellow wraps, front and back. The owner has made pencil notes throughout. Some of the pages have insect damage, and overall there are faults… but what a great display piece and reference tool. We know of no other source like it! Very rare and a must for the South Carolina or Charleston collector.
