COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS
Silver 6th Ohio Cavalry I.D. Pin

Samuel H. Treep enlisted in November of 1861 into Company G of the 6th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry.  Treep fought the entire war with the 6th, mustering out in June 1865 in Petersburg, Virginia.  Amazingly the 6th Ohio fought in over 100 skirmishes and battles starting in the Shenandoah Valley in the Spring of ‘62 to Sailor’s Creek during the Appomattox Campaign of April 1865.  Treep fought under Buford, Duffie, Gregg, Kilpatrick, and in 1864 Sheridan.

The I.D. pin is the “Company letter” variety with a large “G” in the center and at the top, “Saml. H. Treep” and at the bottom, “6th Ohio Vol. Cav.”  On the reverse, is the remains of the “T”-bar pin which has broken off.  The condition and eye appeal of this I.D. are outstanding!  It retains a beautiful patina and will make a wonderful addition to either the I.D. collector, the Ohio Cav. collector or the collector of excavated artifacts who wants items that truly radiate history!
