A wonderful view of a U.S. Sharpshooter Captain holding his mammoth Sharpshooter rifle!  His rifle is of the same manufacture and design as one that is on display in the National Museum at Gettysburg and is pictured in the Time Life Series.  On the reverse of the CDV is the photographers head shot of the captain apparently done for some classifying purpose.  There is a name in ink at the top which may help in identifying this Captain.  This is an extremely important CDV for the collector of Sharpshooter rifles or the photography collector who wants spectacular images!
