This legal size document, 3 pages on blue stationary, was obtained by us at the auction of Gov. Pickens papers held in Columbia, S.C.  This is a one of a kind item!  It is the result of the General Assembly meeting in Columbia, South Carolina on the 26th day of November, 1860, finishing on the 22nd day of December in Charleston.  The document was authorized by W. D. Porter, President of the Senate and James Simons, Speaker of the House of Representatives.  To aid in the display of this rare document we are including a “Military Defense of the State” bond and a CDV of James Simons.  A truly magnificent set in fine condition.  For the collector of Confederate/South Carolina bonds, a unique piece of financial history!
