This pair consists of a perfect standing shot of Dahlgren beside a cannon.  His arms are folded and the photo is so sharp, you can see the rifling in the cannon barrel!  The corners are perfect and the backmark “C. D. Fredricks & Co. New York.”  To frame along with this great CDV is a wonderful Grady image of Dahlgren’s Coat of Arms.  The Coat of Arms has a painted gold background in a shield with cannon (obviously, his Dahlgren cannon), flag and anchor above the phrase “Quorum Pars Fui”.  Written in ink at the bottom of the page is “Dahlgren”.  THIS IS IN ADMIRAL DAHLGREN’S HAND!  This CDV came from a family estate sale 20+ years ago.  Together the 2 CDV’s would look great with one of the Dahlgren letters we are offering under our Confederate Items category.
