O'Rorke & Weed KIA

Brig. Gen. Stephen H. Weed was killed at Gettysburg on July 2, 1863 while holding Little Round Top.  One of the most hard-fought regiments under Weed was the 140th NY, which was led by Col. Patrick H. O’Rorke.  On Little Round Top, O’Rorke cheering his men on was shot in the neck by a charging Confederate.  Today, the monument of the 140th NY marks the spot where Col. O’Rorke fell on Little Round Top.  Occasionally, you can find an O’Rorke signed document.  You can spend many years and not find a Weed document.  To find both on the same document is quite amazing!  To find both on the same document one week prior to Gettysburg and their deaths… UNBELIEVEABLE!  Document is 3 ¼ by 4 ¼ inch, written in nice dark ink with only minor aging.
