COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS

Sheet Music: Dedicated to the Memory Lieut. Richard W. Greer, Company B Washington Light Artillery "who fell at the battle of Secessionville, June 16th, 1862" - "THE JACKET OF GREY" - WITH ENGRAVING OF WASHINGTON LIGHT INFANTRY MONUMENT IN MAGNOLIA CEMETERY

The Jacket of Grey was written by C. A. Ball of Charleston, South Carolina.  The music was written by Stratford B. Woodberry who was a companion of Richard W. Greer.  In addition to be dedicated to Greer, it is also dedicated to “My other comrades who shed their blood for the lost cause.”  The sheet music was published by George A. Oates in Augusta, Georgia in 1871.  There is age spotting – especially around the edges, but for a display of the Washington Artillery, this would be a wonderful piece!  It is also the only example of this sheet music that we personally have ever seen, so it must be quite scarce!
