McPherson's Farm Fame

When touring the Gettysburg battlefield, one of the sites you will remember seeing is that of Edward McPherson’s farm.  Crucial fighting occurred during the battle of Gettysburg on this property on July 1, 1863.  To find the autograph of Edward McPherson is quite difficult.  Our current offering is dated September 17, 1862 the same date that the battle of Antietam was raging!  McPherson writes from Chambersburg, PA., where he is giving instructions to the colonel of the home guard during the 1st Confederate invasion.  His farm would become famous during the 2nd Confederate invasion!  Good condition, paper loss in upper left hand corner, not affecting the writing.  A great piece for the Gettysburg collector!
