COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS
Magnolia Cemetery (S.C.) Grouping: 2 Photos & Stock Certificate

Here is something you don’t see every day.  Two photos of the very famous Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, South Carolina, where the graves of the men who went down on the C.S.S. Hunley are buried.  Both photos are stereoviews, one showing several ladies looking at “Graves of Confederate Soldiers, Charleston, S.C.”  This photo according to an article that is included with it is from approximately 1903.  The second stereoview is a view of the famous Live Oak Tree in Magnolia Cemetery and is published by S. T. Souder 263 King Street, Charleston, S.C.  This stereoview is on an early yellow mount.

Along with the 2 stereoviews is a stock certificate, unused with nice vignette of the Magnolia Cemetery monogram at the top.  It was printed by Walker, Evans & Cogswell in Charleston.  For the Charleston collector, a nice frameable set!
