This nice endorsement by William Wells as Col. of the famous 1^st Vermont Cavalry is dated November 15, 1864.  Wells was promoted to Brigadier General at the end of the war and won the Congressional Medal of Honor for leading a dashing charge at the battle of Gettysburg.  General Farnsworth was K.I.A. and Wells took over the charge.  This is a rather scarce autograph, especially when war-date.  The endorsement size is 3 ¼ x 2 inches.
