MOH Winner William Wells

This nice endorsement by William Wells as Col. of the famous 1st Vermont Cavalry is dated November 15, 1864.  Wells was promoted to Brigadier General at the end of the war and won the Congressional Medal of Honor for leading a dashing charge at the battle of Gettysburg.  General Farnsworth was K.I.A. and Wells took over the charge.  This is a rather scarce autograph, especially when war-date.  The endorsement size is 3 ¼ x 2 inches.
