War Date Letter on the Stationery of Larrabee & North, Dealers in Military Goods, No. 174 Lake Street, Chicago – Display Shows Hats, Swords, Saddles and Insignia – THE LETTER CONCERNS THE PRICES OF MILITARY BUTTONS
I guess if you had a piece of head gear from Larrabee & North, or any other of the equipment they furnished, you would have to have this stationery! The letter is dated May 17th, 1861 from Chicago and is sent to Mr. Jerome Crocker in Muscatine, Iowa. THE IOWA BOYS ARE GETTING FITTED TO GO TO WAR! The letter lists the prices of various buttons and the letter is signed, “Larrabee & North”. A great item for display.
