When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, racial paranoia spread across America and on February 19, 1942, President Roosevelt signed the Executive Order 9066, which forced over 110,000 Japanese living in the United States into Internment Camps throughout the West. This letter is written by K. Guyimato, Barrack 5114-D, Tule Lake W. R. Center, Tule Lake, Calif. The postmark on the envelope is dated August 5, 1942 and is addressed to another Japanese interned victim, Mr. T. Terada, Barrack 13, Apt 6, 9th Street, Santa Anita Assembly Center, Arcadia, Calif.
