After the great Charleston, S.C. fire of 1861, Charleston businessmen ask one of their creditors if they could please pay some of their balance – Historic & Cheap!
This one page document, in nice dark ink, is dated December 21st, 1861. The business of Wilmans & Price are asking a creditor Mr. John Glymph, a resident of Glymphville, S.C., if they could pay on their balance of $107.75. Interestingly there is a little burn hole in the top righthand corner… possibly from the fire? Anyway, an inexpensive historic document.
