Hero was the name of the 204 lb., 7 ft. long prison guard dog that the Confederates used to keep prisoners in line at both Libby and Castle Thunder.  Can you imagine trying to make an escape and have this monster come after you?  There are many tales of runaways being mauled by dogs like Hero.  The card is in fine condition and has the history of Hero on the reverse.  Be sure to read the content as there is an amazing paragraph on what dogs like Hero did to runaway slaves!  A very rare CDV!
