War Date ALS Union General Alfred H. Terry – Led the Union Army to Capture Fort Fisher & then after the War Became a Famed Indian Fighter & was Custer’s Commander!
This letter dated October 15th, 1862 is written from Hilton Head, South Carolina. The content concerns a soldier in the 3rd New Hampshire who has “overstayed his leave 48 days”. The letter is written in nice dark ink and Terry’s signature is excellent… a perfect example of this famed General and Indian fighter.
