“From General Crawford, Commanding 3rd Division 5th Corps, Army of the Potomac” – 3 Confederate Notes – Probably Taken at Appomattox
Over the years we have had several “souvenirs” that General Samuel W. Crawford gave to his friends following the surrender of Lee at Appomattox. Offered is a 8 x 11 inch blue ledger page that was found in an album one of his Officers had kept. While the page is not dated, at the bottom after Crawford’s name is his rank: “Major General by Brevet”. Crawford was Breveted Major General on March 13th, 1865. The rest of the Crawford souvenirs we have seen were all from the Appomattox time period.

Coming out of an album, and not exposed to light, the condition of this page is excellent. The notes, a $5, $10 and $20 1864 series are all in excellent condition. Here is an item that would look fantastic framed on your mancave wall!
