Confederate General G. T. Beauregard Presents the First Confederate Battle Flags to Regiments at Centreville, November 26th, 1861
One page ALS by Confederate General G. T. Beauregard writing to Col. Thomas Jordan his Asst. Adjutant General. Read the story in Troiani’s book, “American Battles” and see his great painting of this presentation. Here is the transcription of this one page letter written all in the hand of Beauregard:

Centreville Nov. 26, 1861
Dear Col.
The delivery of the flags will not take place until the 28th by which time you must have the order ready. I will stop at the office in the morning on my way to the McLean's Ford. I have spoken to Mayor Peyton (Henry E.) about those accounts. He promised me to take hold of them. He desires Maj. Otey (John M.) to assist him. Give them to him if possible & another clerk from any Regt. if needed for the sooner they get this the better.

Yours truly,
G. T. Beauregard

On the reverse:
