The Printer Who Published the First American Bible – Robert Aitken – Pennsylvania Magazine April 1776
This approximately 50 page issue of the Pennsylvania Magazine was bound in a book of other issues… not sure how many. The great part of this offering is the title page:

The Pennsylvania Magazine
or
American Monthly Museum
for April 1776

Under that is the table of contents from the Meteorological Diary on page 154 to “Lists” (Marriages, Births, etc. on page 200). Some of the content is very significant. The “Dialogues on Civil Liberty” is amazing. It lists 3 speakers but will not give their name other than letters: “D, F, H”. Another interesting section is found on page 193. A letter presented to his Excellency Gen. Washington. Condition is very good with some staining.

Of course the neatest thing we think is the publisher found at the bottom of the title page:

PHILADELPHIA:
Printed by R. AITKEN, the Publisher, opposite the London Coffee House, Front-Street

And of course it was Aitken that published the first Bible in America!
