COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS
Fine Greensboro Parole

Next to the Appomattox Parole, the Greensboro Parole given when C. S. General Joseph E. Johnston surrendered to Union General W. T. Sherman is the most desirable!  Our example, in fine condition, with only minor age spotting, was given to Captain A. C. Appleby of the 16th and 24th (they consolidated) South Carolina Volunteers.  The Parole is dated May 2, 1865 (the 2nd day of signing Paroles).  The Parole is signed by C. S. Colonel B. Burgh Smith.  Smith commanded the 2nd Battalion of the South Carolina Sharpshooters and by U.S. Major C. H. Letchler.

It is rare to find a Greensboro Parole in such nice condition, EXCELLENT for display!  We will add a color copy of the Currier & Ives picture of the surrender of Johnson so that you can have a beautiful framed piece.
