COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS
Col. 4th N.J. DOW Fredericksburg

Here is a standing CDV of Col. William B. Hatch holding his sword he looks like a dashing cavalier… except he was Infantry!  In the pose, Hatch puts his left leg forward – the one that would be amputated at the battle of Fredericksburg and which would cause his death 2 days later.  The CDV has soiling, but the corners are good and the image is nice and dark.
