Col. Frank A. Haskell

Captain Frank A. Haskell of Wisconsin was an aide-de-camp to Gen. John Gibbon, Commander of the Iron Brigade.  This put Haskell in the center of action at Gettysburg and his accounts of Gettysburg became very famous (and controversial).  If you want a photo of Haskell for your Gettysburg or Iron Brigade collection, this will probably be the only one you will ever see.  It is a copy photo measuring 5 ½ by 8 inches.  It would look great in a period oval frame.  The photo is mounted on plain cardstock with some mounting residue on the reverse apparently from being in an album.  Below the photo written in ink is “Colonel Frank A. Haskell.”  Whether Haskell wrote that or someone else did we have no way of knowing as we have never seen Haskell’s autograph.  There is one crease extending half way down in the center of the image, but not detracting too much from the overall appearance.  A very unique piece, and again we have never seen another!
