THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS

Confederate Tract - "Anecdotes for Our Soldiers" - General Order from Stonewall
Jackson Thanking God for Victory - Evans & Cogswell, Charleston, S.C. 1862

For fans of Stonewall Jackson, here is a fine Confederate imprint pamphlet with much of his words of wisdom.  It was published by Evans & Cogswell, No. 3 Broad Street in Charleston, South Carolina.  It is tract number 133 and was printed to be handed out to troops, possibly by Chaplains, etc.

The tract starts out with a general order from Jackson thanking God for victory and setting aside a day of rest and worship.  Next, comes “Camp Notes”, a description of Stonewall Jackson and his troop’s faith in him as their Commander.  On page 3 is “The Christian Warrior”, which talks about Jackson giving God the credit for his victories.  Page 4 stresses the necessity for soldiers to read their Bibles and on page 7 a story is given how the Bible that one soldier carried stopped a bullet and saved his life.

Condition of the pamphlet is fine with some age staining… a great piece for display!
