Interesting Excavated Relic – Box of Percussion Caps Dug at Cumberland Landing, Va. – Still full of all the caps!
Relic hunter, Norbert Spandler, dug this tin, about the width of a silver dollar, and 5/8 inch deep in New Kent Court House (Cumberland Landing), Va. Sandy soil means great condition, and if this was in highly mineralized soil we wouldn’t be seeing it! This was found about 20 years ago. The great thing is, it can still be opened to display all the caps, which are now quite green. A super relic!
