This CDV by W. C. North of Cleveland, Ohio, shows a very battle-scarred image of the 23rd Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry. On the reverse in period pencil at the top is “Flag of the 23rd Regt. OVV Inf. Charleston, W. Vig. 1863.” At a later date, not of the period, someone has repeated the title in ink. The CDV is in overall very good condition with one half inch crease on the top right side and staining around the photo mount. The photo is not faded and is an excellent image for an Ohio or battle flag display. Included with the CDV is a Reunion ribbon from the 23rd Ohio’s September 17, 1878 Antietam reunion, which also is great for display!
