A rare copy of General Beauregard’s order praising the efforts of the Confederate troops in repelling the assault of the U.S. troops (led of course by the 54^th Black Massachusetts Regiment).  The order is dated July 18, 1863, by command of General Beauregard signed in print by Thomas Jordan, Chief of Staff.
