COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS

One of Our Most Historic Pieces: The Autograph Album of Miss. Anna C. Lee -
Robert E. Lee's Niece - 28 Entires Including FIVE CONFEDERATE GENERALS!

This album was originally given to Anna on Christmas 1859.  It has a beautiful hand-painted cover with inlayed Mother of Pearl.  The album was printed by “Leavitt & Allen in New York” with a title, “Cherished Memories”.  The first entry is from “Dolly, Washington, D.C. January 7th, 1860”.

This is a researchers “dream”!  We have obviously identified the 5 Confederate Generals along with one other significant name:

JAMES BARON HOPE – The Poet-Laureate of the Confederacy

Most of the entries are from 1862 and 1863.  All 5 Confederate Generals are war date… and they are great!

ISAAC R. TRIMBLE

THOMAS JORDAN

FITZ LEE

S. W. FERGUSON

G. T. BEAUREGARD

Each of the Generals writes on a separate page in nice dark ink.  There are several other Officers who writes sentiments to Anna… but they sign with their initials.  Here is a chance for you to be a detective!

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to actually own something from the Lee family!  Examine our photos carefully.  Included with the album is a December 15th, 1931 letter from a Richmond antique store sending the album as a gift to one of their clients.  It was found in 1931 in a piece of furniture that they had!  We are pricing this album just based on the 5 Confederate Generals and Poet-Laureate.  If you love the Lee family and their family history, here is an item you will want to acquire for your collection!
