For you collectors of our Christian heritage, here is a letter written by Dr. (Rev.) Edward Norris Kirk, who was the first pastor of the Mount Vernon Congregational Church (Now, the Old South Church) in Boston from 1842 to 1871, where his teaching lead to the conversion of renowned Evangelist Dewitt L. Moody. 

The letter is headed “Boston 18 February 1851” and comes with a nice cover with Boston cancellation.  The letter is addressed to “A. M. Carter” who had requested that Kirk come to Baltimore to speak on Bible study.  In this letter, Kirk gives a full two pages on how the Bible should be studied.  The letter is signed in full “Edward N. Kirk”.  Read our scans of this four page letter, it is in fine condition.
