COMMEMORATING THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL WAR WITH

THE FINEST ORIGINAL SOLDIER'S LETTERS AND ARTIFACTS
5th Texas Infantry, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE Patriotic Cover - Lt. Campbell Woods, W.I.A. Gettysburg

If you like historic Confederate pieces, here is a wonderful Confederate patriotic cover.  The cover is dark orange in color and has an engraving of Confederate cannon and 12 star flag to the left, along with “Sold by Geo. T. Baldwin” underneath.  At the top of the cover is Latin: “Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori” and written underneath “Lt. Campbell Wood”, under that, “Waverly Confederates”, “5th Regt. Texas Vol.”  The cover is addressed to “Mrs. E. A. Wood, Danville, Texas.”  The cover has faults at its edges and corners, but for display it is a good, solid, historic Texas item.  Woods was wounded both at 2nd Manassas in August of 1862 and again on the second day at Gettysburg.
