Anything from the 26th N.C., the regiment that sustained more casualties than any other regiment, is very desirable. This cover with a “RICHMOND, VA. AUG. 7” postmark and “DUE 10” has Cureton’s name and regiment at the top. It is addressed to his wife, Julia in Union County, N.C. Condition is good with some staining and fading.
