KILLED AT GETTYSBURG – On a Fine CS Envelope, this Address: Lieut. Jesse H. H. Person, 1st Regt. N.C. Cavalry Manassas, Virginia
This cover with a fine “LOUISBURGH, N.C. FEB. 19” postmark with “PAID 5” has great eye appeal. In the Confederate reference book showing North Carolina stamp-less cities, they show Louisburg without the “h” at the end… not sure if they made a mistake… or maybe this is a rare variety!

Anyway, Lieut. Person was a resident of Franklin County, N.C. and enlisted at 19 years of age into Company E of the 1st North Carolina Cavalry. He was killed on July 3rd, 1863 at Gettysburg.
