Confederate Turned Cover (Used Twice) - First Postmark, Augusta, Ga. Second, West Point, Ga. - Great Return Address on Front of Cover:  1ST ARKANSAS REGIMENT OF MOUNTED RIFLEMEN

If you happen to collect covers that have great regiment designations, here is the only one we have ever seen from the Arkansas Riflemen.

“From, M. S. Ruse, Co. (G) 1st Ark. Reg.
Of Mt. Riflemen
Reynolds Brig.
Walthalls Div.”

This turned cover was sent to West Point, Ga. from Augusta, Ga.  There is a 3 cent rose stamp with an August 2 cancellation.  The second usage (and certainly the one to display) has a script “Due 10” and then a “Due 20” under it.  It is addressed to “Mr. James H. Grun Morris Post Off, Ala.”  WE WILL PHOTOGRAPH THE COVER WITH THE LEFT CORNER FOLDED TO SHOW THE FIRST USAGE AND THEN NOT FOLDED… of course for display, you could just show a color copy of the other side.  A very rare cover!
