16th Mass. Inf. - Graphic Battle Letter Describing Malvern Hill & 2nd Bull Run Written by Harris D. Clark - Helped Save the Life of Asa D. Smith in Bruce Catton's Book!

Here is a four page letter written in nice dark ink that comes with its stamped envelope.  Harris D. Clark, a resident of Holliston, Mass., was a 24-year old mechanic who enlisted in Company B of the 16th Mass. Infantry.  At the battle of Glendale, Virginia, he helped save the life of Asa D. Smith in June of 1862.  Bruce Catton’s book, Asa Smith Leaves the War, mentions about Harris Clark saving Asa’s life.

Harris himself was wounded in August 1862 at 2nd Bull Run and we find him in a Philadelphia hospital September 21st, 1862 writing to Asa!  After recuperating, Harris was taken prisoner at the battle of Gettysburg.

Take time to read this thrilling letter with its great content, it is action filled!
