Here is an interesting document, George W. McCrary, Secretary of War, writing on official “War Department, Washington City” stationary dated September 16th, 1879 is asking for a copy of the preceding of an investigation for “the loss of public funds, for which Major C. C. Clark... was responsible.”  A nice autograph of the Secretary of War.
