Photograph, Ink Drawing & Lincoln Souvenir from the Scrapbook of Lt. Thomas J. Stone, Color Bearer, 13th Ohio Infantry
This lot consists of several items found in Lt. Thomas Stone’s scrapbook that he composed after the war. There is a wartime unmounted CDV photo of Stone. It is attached to a page that has two war date drawings of their log-sided tent. There is also a picture of the White House and under it Stone has written, “I heard Lincoln make his last public speech from the center window under the portico of the White House, April 11, 1865. Thos. J. Stone”. These items have been mounted in a 9 x 15 inch frame.

Thomas J. Stone enlisted as a Corporal on April 17th, 1861. The 13th Ohio Infantry regimental shows him as being Color Bearer at the bloody battle of Shiloh, Tennessee. Stone advanced all the way to 1st Lieut. A fine set for display especially with the comments about Lincoln’s last speech.
